World Cup Odds 2026: Spain Joins France and Brazil as Co-Favorites

Our best sports betting sites are offering 2026 World Cup odds, and there's a logjam at the top featuring most of what we would consider the usual suspects. Spain, fresh off their victory at Euro 2024, have joined co-favorites France, Brazil, and England with the shortest odds just under two years out.
Other results of Copa America 2024 and Euro 2024 did little to change the odds. The international soccer landscape may look vastly different when the World Cup rolls around, as we've already seen retirement announcements come down the pipe on the heels of our two major summer tournaments.
The 2026 World Cup gets underway on June 11, 2026, and expands to 48 teams for the first time. Only the United States, Canada, and Mexico host nations are confirmed as qualifying rolls along.

2026 World Cup favorites
France (+600)
France were one of the favorites for the 2024 Euro. Despite not living up to their billing, they've held firm as a co-favorite to capture the 2026 World Cup.
The eventual champs bounced Les Bleus in the semifinals, but they never looked right on the attack all tournament. While the official scoresheet will say they potted four goals, two were own goals from their opponents and one was on a penalty kick.
However, the best striker in the world (and arguably the best player in the world) in Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe leads France, a team stacked with talent. Most of their top players are still relatively young, which is extremely important when looking ahead to a tournament just under two years away.

Spain (+650)
Spain are the champions of Europe after making sure that England didn't take it home in 2024. In doing so they became the first team to win all of their group-stage and knockout matches twice in the history of the tournament.
They crumbled at the 2022 World Cup while producing maybe the worst penalty-shootout performance of all time, with Morocco eliminating them from the tournament.
Spain are perennial contenders in these events. They most recently won the World Cup in 2010, which they sandwiched with Euro glory in 2008 and 2012.
There's a ton of young talent in the Spanish pipeline, and they'll once again prove to be a tough challenge for the rest of the field.

Brazil (+650)
It's almost surprising to see Brazil sitting in this spot following their showing at Copa America 2024.
Don't get me wrong, Brazil boasts pedigree on the world stage, with a record five World Cup wins. But this isn't your parents' Brazil team. Ahead of this year's Copa, national hero and legend Ronaldinho said "I'm not going to watch any of the games. Everything is missing, determination, joy, not playing well. I’m not even going to watch one game.”
The Canarinha responded in kind by going 1-2-0 in the group stage and being bounced in the opening knockout round. This team is flat, and there are some issues that will need to be sorted before heading back to the biggest world stage.

My 2026 World Cup team to watch
Argentina (+1000)
The reigning champs aren't very far down the oddsboard, but they're being priced outside the top tier still at Caesars.
Argentina will almost surely be without Lionel Messi in 2026, although he hasn't officially announced his retirement from international soccer yet.
However, the team proved its depth beyond him while winning Copa America on the heels of outstanding performances from Golden Boot winner Lautaro Martinez, who didn't even need to start most games.
Several of our best sports betting apps have already shortened Argentina up considerably, so catching four digits at Caesars while it's still available may not be a bad choice.
