The Toronto Maple Leafs are favored to continue their domination of the Seattle Kraken tonight at Climate Pledge Arena (10 p.m. eastern, TSN 4.)

Toronto has won six of seven all-time meetings with the Kraken, including a 4-1 decision earlier this year. The Leafs also have some momentum from back-to-back victories in Alberta, while Seattle has won just two of its last seven games.

Will the Kraken put up a fight tonight or even pull off the upset? Read on for our Maple Leafs vs. Kraken prediction, picks and player props.

My best Maple Leafs vs. Kraken pick

Over 6.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Leafs rediscovered their offense during this western road trip, potting 10 goals in wins over the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. Toronto’s power play has accounted for much of the damage, scoring twice in each game. The Leafs have tallied four or more goals in five of their last eight games overall.

Toronto leading scorer Mitch Marner was questionable due to a lower-body injury that sidelined him for Tuesday’s 6-3 win at Calgary. But even if he misses a second straight game tonight, the Leafs have more than enough depth to overcome his absence. William Nylander recorded a hat trick versus the Flames, while Matthew Knies is tied for the team lead in goals since the start of January.

Defensive play remains a big issue lately for the Kraken, who have surrendered 75 shots over their last two games and given up at least three goals in six of eight.

However, Seattle’s still showing plenty of fight, battling back from a two-goal deficit to force overtime in Tuesday’s 5-4 shootout loss to the Detroit Red Wings. The Kraken have struck for 4+ goals in six of their last eight at home, and there’s a possibility that they face a rusty Anthony Stolarz in net for Toronto as he nears return from missing nearly two months due to injury.

Best Maple Leafs vs. Kraken player prop pick

NHL picks made Thursday; odds subject to change.

Kaapo Kakko prop pick: Over 0.5 Points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

After collecting just 14 points in his first 30 games this season with the New York Rangers, Kakko has flourished on Seattle’s top line alongside Matty Beniers and Jaden Schwartz. The 23-year-old has recorded 17 points in his last 22 games and is seeing a lot of ice time, playing nearly 20 minutes in Tuesday’s loss to the Detroit Red Wings.

Kakko also plays on Seattle’s top power play unit and should create chances against a Leafs penalty kill that has allowed 10 goals over its last nine games. In a game where we are backing the Over, I’ll gladly take plus money on Kakko contributing to the scoring.
