Scott Arniel has enjoyed a dream start to his first season in charge of the Winnipeg Jets. The 2024-25 Jack Adams Award odds favorite at BetMGM served as Rick Bowness' assistance the previous two seasons and hasn't missed a beat as the Jets' bench boss, leading his team to an NHL-best .909 points percentage.

The Jets have been rising up the Stanley Cup odds leaderboard in the process.

New Jersey Devils' new bench boss Sheldon Keefe, who opened as the favorite, is still among the lead pack, trading at +750 at BetMGM

Spencer Carbery's first month in charge of the Washington Capitals has arguably been the most impressive. He has a team that was expected to be on the outside of the playoff picture taking 78% of the possible points from the first nine games. Our best NHL betting sites have taken notice.

Here are the latest Jack Adams notes:

  • Among the 10 favorites, Peter DeBoer's Dallas Stars have the shortest Stanley Cup odds.
  • The three favorites (Arniel, Carbery, and Keefe) took charge of their teams before the current campaign
  • DeBoer, our coach to watch, has seen his odds shorten from +2800 to +1600 in the first month
  • Keefe is the favorite at FanDuel (+650) and Carbery is the favorite at DraftKings (+800)

Jack Adams favorites 2024-25

Scott Arniel (+600)

Arniel couldn't have envisioned things going any better to kick off his first season as the Jets' head honcho. Winnipeg sits atop the NHL standings and is performing better offensively than most predicted.

They have, however, enjoyed one of the easier schedules to start, playing two teams that made last season's playoffs in the opening 11 games.

That said, Connor Hellebuyck has picked up where he left off last season.

He had a 12-game regular-season streak of allowing three or fewer goals broken by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 28. The Vezina Trophy odds front-runner has a knack for making life easier for whoever presides over affairs from on top of the bench.

FanDuel offers the best price, and a winning $10 bet would profit $100.

Best odds: +1000 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 9.09%

My Jack Adams Award coach to watch

Peter DeBoer (+1600)

DeBoer enjoyed a superb first season in charge of the Stars, leading them to last year's Western Conference final. Dallas is trading as one of the primary contenders to lift the 2025 Stanley Cup, and the start of the season has followed that narrative.

Aside from back-to-back losses in Finland to the defending Cup champion Florida Panthers, the Stars have been one of the league's best teams.

Dallas is one of the best defensive teams, has a Vezina Trophy odds contender in Jake Oettinger and has a perfect balance of youth and experience.

While his odds have improved from +2800 to +1600 since the season started, you can still find value in backing DeBoer. A $10 winning bet would profit $160.

Best odds: +1600 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 5.88%

How to read Jack Adams Trophy futures odds

Reading Jack Adams Trophy odds is straightforward. Odds are usually presented in a format like +500 or -200. Positive odds (e.g., +500) show how much profit you’d make on a $100 bet.

For example, a $100 bet at +500 odds would win you $500, plus your original $100 stake, totaling $600. Negative odds (e.g., -200) indicate how much you need to bet to win $100. So, a $200 bet at -200 odds would win you $100, plus your $200 stake, totaling $300.

These odds also reflect the probability of a team winning the championship. Lower odds (e.g., +300) suggest a higher likelihood, while higher odds (e.g., +2000) indicate a lower probability.

Sportsbooks adjust these odds based on performance, injuries, trades, and betting patterns.
