Stanley Cup Odds & Favorites 2025: NHL Final Futures Odds

The Toronto Maple Leafs were the first team in the Stanley Cup Playoffs to secure a 3-0 first-round series lead, and moving to the brink of Round 2 improved their standing in the Stanley Cup odds, as they now trail only the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers as the betting favorites.

The Panthers secured a 2-0 series lead with their win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday. Friday's NHL playoffs action can see the Hurricanes, Washington Capitals, and Los Angeles Kings all take a 3-0 lead as well. The New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens, and Edmonton Oilers will hope to avoid the same fate as the Ottawa Senators.

🏆 Stanley Cup odds favorites 2025

Hurricanes Stanley Cup odds: +600

The Hurricanes opened up a 2-0 first-round series lead over the New Jersey Devils by winning both games on home ice. The combined score of 7-2 favored Carolina.

Carolina hopes to get back to the Eastern Conference Final following a second-round playoff exit last year. Left wing Jordan Martinook leads the team with three points this postseason. All but four skaters have at least one point through two games, and goaltender Frederik Andersen has stopped 48 of 50 Devils shots.

Panthers Stanley Cup odds: +650

Star forward Matthew Tkachuk returned to action in time for Game 1 of the Panthers' first-round series against the rival Lightning and scored twice in his team's 6-2 drubbing of the Bolts. Florida then won Game 2 by a score of 2-0 with a 19-save shutout from Sergei Bobrovsky.

Defenseman Aaron Ekblad is eligible to return from suspension for Game 3 to get the defending Stanley Cup champions back to full strength.

Jets Stanley Cup odds: +900

The Jets were up 2-0 on the St. Louis Blues after back-to-back wins on home ice, but a 7-2 loss in Game 3 lengthened their Stanley Cup odds considerably. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck will once again have to answer questions about his postseason performance after allowing six goals on 25 shots before being pulled.

🍁 Maple Leafs Stanley Cup odds

Best Stanley Cup odds: +700 via Caesars | Implied probability: 12.50%

The Maple Leafs will have the chance to be the first team to advance to the second round, as they can sweep the rival Senators with a fourth straight win on Saturday in Ottawa.

The last two games of this series went to overtime, so it's been closer than things might appear, but goaltender Anthony Stolarz is proving worthy of Conn Smythe Trophy consideration.

The Hurricanes and Panthers, unsurprisingly, lead the odds to win the Eastern Conference and make the Stanley Cup Final.

Odds to win the Western Conference

The Jets (+400) still lead the Los Angeles Kings (+450) by the odds to win the Western Conference despite slipping down the Stanley Cup oddsboard. Expect Los Angeles to become the favorite in this market with a third straight win over Edmonton tonight.

🏒 Projected 2025 NHL Draft order

There's a quick caveat to the NHL draft order, as the team that finished last in the standings (San Jose) doesn't automatically get the No. 1 draft pick. The NHL draft lottery features the 16 teams that do not make the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Teams can move as many as 10 spots up the NHL draft order compared to where they finished in the regular season standings.

Therefore, 11 teams are in the mix for the No. 1 pick. However, the last-placed team is more likely to secure the first pick.

📋 How to read Stanley Cup odds

Stanley Cup odds reflect the probability of each NHL team winning the championship and are typically presented in American odds format (+XXX). Lower odds signify a higher probability, while higher odds indicate a lower probability.

For example, a $100 bet at +500 odds would win you $500, plus your original $100 stake, totaling $600.

A team with +750 odds to win the Stanley Cup is given an 11.76% implied probability of doing so with a $100 winning bet returning a $750 profit, plus your $100 stake ($850 total).

A team with +1500 odds would have higher or longer odds, and a lower implied probability of 6.25%, but a win on a $100 bet would return a profit of $1,500 if it hits.
