The puck will drop on the inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off in a few hours, with Canada and Sweden battling at the Bell Centre (8 p.m., TNT). Don't feel alarmed if you're experiencing any of the following: sweaty palms and underarms, a heartbeat pumping as fast as Connor McDavid skates, and a nervous twitch.

Those symptoms go hand-in-hand with watching best-on-best hockey.

Oddsmakers at our best sports betting sites are doing their utmost to find the sweet spot in their player props odds, but we've found some excellent value in our Canada vs. Sweden player prop picks.

Best player prop pick for Canada vs. Sweden

Connor McDavid Over 0.5 assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Canada is the co-favorites by the 4 Nations Face-Off odds, but how will the team gel, and what can we expect from a Swedish squad with its fair share of premium NHL talent?

While there's more murkiness and unknown entering this tournament than marshlands in the tropics, I feel about as confident as Jalen Hurts after the Super Bowl about McDavid's ability to post one assist against the Swedes.

It's a high-value prop, as McDavid's one-assist props in the NHL are usually pegged at a much more expensive price.

It looks as though McDavid will be playing alongside Marner and Sam Reinhart. While Marner is more of an assist man, Reinhart is a pure triggerman.

Plus, McDavid will be prowling on any power-play opportunities. Lock this in, and a $10 winning bet will profit $7.81. And while we're at it, I'm backing McDavid to be the tournament's top point-getter in our early 4 Nations Face-Off predictions

Canada vs. Sweden player props

Mitch Marner Over 0.5 assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thanks to the plus-money odds, I like this Marner prop as much as McDavid's. Marner has 55 assists in 54 games, the third-most behind Nathan MacKinnon and Nikita Kucherov. He's even more of a pure assist man than prospective linemate McDavid and should come through with at least one helper.

He posted at least one assist in 35 of 54 games, a 65% success rate. Marner will also get power-play time, and I expect him to join McDavid with at least one apple.

While Canada's prospective 1A line resembles the cast of superheroes in "Avengers: Endgame," the trio is just one piece of Canada's explosive offensive puzzle. That's why I backed the Over in my Canada vs. Sweden prediction

Best odds: +102 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 49.50%

Filip Forsberg Over 0.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

In the NHL, Forsberg is scorching hot. He has 34 points in the last 24 games and the fourth-most points per game (1.42) in that timeframe. A few weeks ago, his 10-game point streak — in which he posted 19 points — ended. Forsberg is the primary reason the Nashville Predators have scored the 10th-most goals per game (3.13) since Dec. 14.

It looks like he'll be playing on a line with Adrian Kempe and Elias Pettersson, providing enough firepower to trouble Canada's defense. He should also feature on the Swedes' top power play line, increasing the likelihood of him notching at least one point.

A winning $10 bet will profit $10.20.
