The biggest party in golf tees off Thursday morning, beginning at 9:20 a.m. ET, at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona and will run up until kickoff of the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. I've rounded up my best WM Phoenix Open expert picks in an attempt to pad those Super Bowl bankrolls.

Scottie Scheffler is the consensus betting favorite by the WM Phoenix Open odds with a best available price of +280. The Chiefs are -115 moneyline favorites in the Super Bowl. Combining those two bets, and winning both legs, would return a profit of $61.04 on a $10 wager, according to our parlay calculator.

It's the People's Open (and the Super Bowl) so let's aim a little higher with my WM Phoenix Open expert picks.

John Ewing of BetMGM reports that Scheffler (+275) is the most bet golfer to win the WM Phoenix Open at the sportsbook. Scheffler has drawn 31% of the betting handle as the favorite to win.

Kim finished T-7 in last week's Signature Event at Pebble Beach and was briefly atop the leaderboard on Sunday. I was most impressed by his 1.00 strokes gained: putting per round as success on the greens will be a key to victory at TPC Scottsdale.

Kim played this event each of the past two years. He improved on a T-50 in his debut to finish T-17 in his second go-around.

The star of last week's TGL event has the flair and confidence necessary to win amid the raucous environment of the People's Open. He's seemingly a fan favorite in any event and his confidence should be bolstered following a rough 2024 campaign.

Best Phoenix Open long-shot pick

Wyndham Clark

Best odds: +7000 via FanDuel | Implied win probability: 1.41%

Clark missed the cut in The American Express and tied for 73rd in last week's 80-man field. But +7000 odds for the No. 7 golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR)? I'll take this every time.

He has averaged just 0.72 total strokes gained per round at TPC Scottsdale's Stadium Course, but he tied for 10th just two years ago for his best result in six appearances in this event.

Every now and then we need to pick the price over current form. Clark's best Players Championship odds and U.S. Open odds are just +5000. We're getting an extra $200 in profit on a winning $10 bet in an easier event.

The defending champion of the People's Open ranks 27th on the PGA Tour with a first-round scoring average of 68.00 through four events this year - one of which he won. He ranked 30th for the 2024 season in the same statistic.

Taylor's win last year followed a runner-up finish the year before, and he's averaging 0.59 true strokes gained on the field per round at the Stadium Course for his career.

I like his outright odds of +6500 at FanDuel to defend his title, but I don't mind the slightly shorter price for the 18-hole lead with a winning $10 bet still returning a profit of $600.
