The Indianapolis Colts will try to slow down the Detroit Lions and their top-ranked scoring offense when they clash Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Super Bowl odds favorite Lions have the third-best rushing attack in football, while the Colts have one of the worst run defenses in the league. That will be a major factor in our Lions vs. Colts player prop bet picks for this tilt in Indianapolis.

If Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery can control the clock for the Lions, what does that mean for Anthony Richardson and the Colts’ offense? With the Lions favored by 7.5, our Week 12 NFL predictions think Richardson may be called upon more than usual, even if his possessions are limited.

We also looked at this game with our Lions vs. Colts prediction.

Lions vs. Colts touchdown pick

David Montgomery to score 2+ touchdowns (+350) ⭐⭐⭐

The Lions are averaging 33.6 points per game, so the best touchdown prop for this game has to be one of their players. While Amon-Ra St. Brown scoring in his ninth consecutive game is tempting, the price for Montgomery to score twice provides the most value.

Montgomery scored two touchdowns last week, marking his second game with multiple touchdowns this season. He now has 10 rushing touchdowns on the year, and though Gibbs has eight, Montgomery continues to be the primary red-zone back.

The Colts are allowing less than one rushing touchdown per game, but they’re also allowing 2.1 red-zone touchdowns per contest. The Lions are averaging 2.8 red zone touchdowns per game, and they are second in the league with 1.8 rushing scores on average.

With all of these stats in mind, getting greater than 3-to-1 odds on Montgomery to reach the end zone twice is too good to pass up.

Best Lions vs. Colts prop bets

Jahmyr Gibbs Over 70.5 rushing yards (-110)

Gibbs has rushed for between 65 and 71 yards in each of his last three games. Last week, he managed 69 yards on just 11 carries for an average of 6.3 yards per attempt.

While he’s carried the ball 16 or fewer times in all but one of his games this season, he’s averaging 6.0 yards per carry - tied with Baltimore Ravens star Derrick Henry, one of the NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds favorites, for the best mark among running backs.

The Colts enter Sunday’s game with the fifth-worst run defense in the NFL. They’re allowing 143.1 rushing yards per game, and they’re about to take on the third-best rushing attack in the NFL. Gibbs has two 100-yard rushing games this season, and he’s topped 70.5 rushing yards in six games.

The total for this prop is set at 69.5 at FanDuel, but the price for the Over is -114. For one extra yard, you can get a price of -110 at bet365, which provides better value.

Anthony Richardson Over 29.5 pass attempts (-108)

Richardson has attempted at least 30 passes in back-to-back games. This week, he takes on a defense that is allowing 36.8 passing attempts per game.

With the Lions favored by more than a touchdown, the Colts will likely be throwing most of this game. Richardson has started just two losses for the Colts this season. He’s thrown at least 32 passes in those games.

While many may be tempted to take the Over for his passing yards or completions, remember that in one of those two losses, he completed just 10 of his 32 passes, and he’s topped 212 yards just once all season.

All of our best sportsbooks have the same total listed for this prop, but while Caesars and BetMGM are asking -120 for the Over, FanDuel is asking -108.
