We're nearing the conclusion of the NFL regular season, which means the playoff picture is beginning to take shape as the Super Bowl odds contenders have firmly separated themselves from the pretenders.

Teams such as the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, and Philadelphia Eagles have been removed from the NFL playoffs odds market due to the fact that they're nearly guaranteed a spot.

Meanwhile, on the flip side, the New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Giants have been removed for being too awful.

Along with our NFL playoff predictions, here is a look at the latest NFL playoff odds as we look ahead to the NFL Week 13 odds.

NFL playoffs odds

Commanders (-200)

The Washington Commanders lost in Week 12 to the Dallas Cowboys, slightly muddying their playoff hopes. However, they still hold the third wild-card seed in the NFC, and their playoffs odds reflect that.

NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds favorite Jayden Daniels has slowed down recently, but the Commanders still look like a strong bet to make the postseason.

Broncos (-154)

Fellow Offensive Rookie of the Year contender led his Broncos to another victory in Week 12, this time against the lowly Raiders.

The Broncos look very solid in head coach Sean Payton's second year with the team, as they're combining their usual strong defensive play with an improved offense.

Buccaneers (+118)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be just 5-6, but they look like a team on the rise in the NFC.

Following the annihilation of the New York Giants, the Bucs get another favorable matchup in Week 13 against the Carolina Panthers. There's a reason the best price on this team is only +118 despite its losing record.

Dolphins (+250)

Much like the Bucs, the Miami Dolphins are just 5-6. However, they similarly look poised for a big run down the stretch.

The Dolphins are coming off a big win against AFC East rivals, the New England Patriots, but they'll face a much stiffer test on Thanksgiving at the Green Bay Packers.

But if Miami wins again in Week 13, the Dolphins' odds will shorten dramatically. Therefore, if you believe in this team, the time to bet it to make the playoffs is now.

How to bet NFL playoff odds

Our sites with the best sportsbook promos set playoff odds for each team, and you then wager on whether that club will qualify for the postseason.

To find these markets, go to your favorite sportsbook, head to the NFL section, and look for "futures." There, you'll find a variety of options, including playoff odds.

Oddsmakers consider many factors when setting or shifting the playoff odds, including the quality of a team's roster, offseason transactions, draft picks, past results, and injuries. The strength of the division and schedule also factor into the total. There’s a price attached to each team total too, and it can change based on the betting action.

NFL playoff odds wagers are futures bets. A successful wager is paid out at the conclusion of the regular season.

How to read NFL playoff odds

Reading NFL playoff odds is straightforward. Odds are usually presented in a format like +500 or -200. Positive odds (e.g., +500) show how much profit you’d make on a $100 bet.

For example, a $100 bet at +500 odds would win you $500, plus your original $100 stake, totaling $600. Negative odds (e.g., -200) indicate how much you need to bet to win $100. So, a $200 bet at -200 odds would win you $100, plus your $200 stake, totaling $300.

These odds also reflect the probability of a particular NFL playoff odds outcome. Lower odds (e.g., -250) suggest a higher likelihood, while higher odds (e.g., +500) indicate a lower probability. Our best sports betting sites adjust these odds based on injuries, stats, news, and betting patterns.

If the Chiefs are getting -550 odds to make the playoffs and the Packers are at -155, Kansas City is considered much more likely to qualify. If you bet $100 on the Chiefs and they make the playoffs, you’d get $118 back.
