It really felt like this was the Baltimore Ravens' year, right up until the point that it wasn't. I guess that's a common theme for the Ravens during the last few years.
However, I'm banking on their 2026 postseason run to be different.
The Ravens were bitten by the injury bug at the absolute worst time this season, as No. 1 wide receiver Zay Flowers missed the playoffs following an injury in Week 18, and the Robin to his Batman, Rashod Bateman, suffered an injury of his own in the AFC title game against the Buffalo Bills.
Of course, everyone blamed tight end Mark Andrews for the defeat, but it's possible he wouldn't have been put in all of those positions if Lamar Jackson had his other trustworthy options.
Baltimore's defense really started clicking in the second half, and I think the Ravens will finally find that perfect formula to playoff success in 2026.
Super Bowl 2026 contender pick: 49ers

I'm expecting a big bounce-back campaign from the 49ers.
Early reports are that Christian McCaffrey is nearly fully healthy, and he would obviously provide the 49ers with the biggest boost if he can play at even 80% of what he did two years ago.
There are also rumors that San Francisco is open to trading Deebo Samuel, and if he goes, I think it actually helps our case.
Maybe he was hurt, or maybe the repeated contact he invites and the various injuries he's suffered throughout the years finally added up, but Samuel looked terrible last year.
If the 49ers do trade him, it would allow Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall to get more touches, along with any other offensive weapons they add this offseason.
San Francisco has some defensive pieces set to hit free agency that it'll need to retain or replace, but I think the 49ers will play better on that side of the ball with Robert Saleh back as the defensive coordinator.
Overall, this is great value on a perennial contender.

I know, I know, it's the Chicago Bears. But hear me out.
The Bears certainly have the talent, and much of that is returning in 2025. Their downfall in 2024 was mostly due to the carousel of coaching disasters. Well, that's been seemingly remedied now with the hiring of Ben Johnson, who joins after serving as one of the best offensive coordinators in the NFL while with the Detroit Lions.
Johnson will have a talented second-year quarterback in Caleb Williams, and DJ Moore and Rome Odunze form a formidable 1-2 punch at receiver. The goal now will be improving the offensive line in front of Williams.
If the sophomore signal-caller can make the leap and Johnson lives up to the hype, I really think the Bears could make some noise in 2025, and, hopefully, that carries over into February 2026.
