2025 NFL Draft Best Available Players: Top 10 Remaining Prospects Entering Day 2

Arguably, the biggest storyline emerging from the first round of the NFL draft is which player didn't hear his name called: Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders.

Though viewed as one of the top quarterbacks in a weak class for them, Sander is not among my 2025 NFL Draft best available players entering Day 2 and may need to wait a while longer to be selected tonight.

Here are my best available players in the 2025 NFL Draft entering Day 2, including their original pre-draft ranking on my big board:

🏈 Best available players for Day 2 of 2025 NFL Draft

Check out the 2025 NFL Draft Tracker for live updates on every pick.

⭐ Will Johnson, CB, Michigan (13)

A potential top-10 pick ahead of his final season at Michigan, injuries derailed Johnson's stock, on top of the fact that he never ran a 40-yard dash to help quiet some of the questions around his long speed. Still, he's clearly the best player on the board entering Day 2 and could be an instant impact starter for a team looking for a disciplined zone corner with major cover instincts.

⭐ Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall (17)

Considered a top-20 talent by most, Green was presumably not selected in the first round due to off-field questions stemming from two separate sexual assault allegations. Green was first in the country in sacks (17), ninth in pressures (59), and 19th in pass-rush win rate last season (20.2%), per PFF, but will likely slide further tonight due to character concerns.

⭐ Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College (23)

One of the most shocking players to fall out of the first round, Ezeiruaku is among the best pure pass rushers in the class after finishing sixth in the country in pressures (60) and second in sacks (16.5) last season. Even with his lack of size (6-foot-2, 248 pounds), his arm length is in the 70th percentile (34 inches), per MockDraftable, and he should be one of the first players selected in the second round.

⭐ Luther Burden, WR, Missouri (24)

Although Burden was ranked in the top 30 by many NFL draft analysts, media reports questioning the dynamic pass catcher's work ethic throughout the process likely contributed to his falling to Day 2. He's already set out to prove the NFL wrong, and I don't expect him to fall much further. He's a YAC monster in the Deebo Samuel mold and was second in the country in forced missed tackles on receptions last season (30).

⭐ Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina (25)

There might not have been a non-QB with a higher variance in where he could be drafted entering last night than Emmanwori. He's a freakshow athlete - 91st percentile or better with his height, weight, 10-yard split, 40-yard dash, vertical and broad jump - but his skill set is unique and needs the right defense for him to reach his potential. He should be one of the first players picked tonight and could be an interesting NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds bet based on where he lands.

⭐ Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss (31)

The Buffalo Bills looked like the perfect landing spot for Amos in the first round, but they elected to take Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston instead. Now Amos should end up one of the first 10 picks tonight after leading the SEC in forced incompletions last season (13) while consistently showcasing his length and route recognition skills. The NFL loves long cornerbacks, especially when they run sub 4.45 40-yard dashes.

⭐ TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State (33)

Despite closing at minus-money to be selected in the first round at our best sports betting sites, Henderson didn't manage to join Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton as a first-round running back. However, he is among the most coveted players entering Day 2 after he was seventh in the country in rushing yards after contact per carry last season (4.43). Henderson is also a quality pass catcher and the best pass protecting back in the class. Keep an eye on the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and Dallas Cowboys trying to move up for him.

⭐ Mason Taylor, TE, LSU (39)

The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, Mason Taylor would be a candidate to be the top tight end prospect in most drafts - he just happened to be in the same class as No. 10 pick Colston Loveland and No. 14 pick Tyler Warren. Still, Taylor is one of the safest prospects left after having the lowest drop rate in the country among tight ends last season (1.8%) while hauling in the sixth-most first down receptions at the position (37).

⭐ Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M (40)

Ahead of his junior season at Texas A&M, Scourton was viewed as a potential top-10 pick after having the 12th-best pass rush win rate in the country (21.2%) as a sophomore at Purdue. But after transferring to the Aggies, he had to gain nearly 30 pounds and play a role that was much less pass-rush focused, hurting his stock. He's back down to his regular playing weight (257 pounds), and he's one of the youngest players in the draft, so he should go quickly tonight.

⭐ Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA (41)

Clearly, the NFL wasn't sold on any of the three top linebackers with Jalon Walker (though more of a tweener) falling to No. 15, Jihaad Campbell sliding to the Philadelphia Eagles, and Schwesinger not jumping into the first round like was rumored. The former walk-on is now the clear top off-ball linebacker left after leading the Big Ten in defensive stops last season (50) and possessing legitimate athleticism, including a 93rd percentile vertical jump (39 1/2 inches).

📉 Where does Shedeur Sanders rank entering Day 2?

The writing was on the wall for Sanders as the draft approached and more and more reports surfaced that the NFL wasn't as interested in the Colorado star as the media had been for the last two years. After opening as the favorite to be the No. 1 pick nearly a year ago, Sanders wasn't even the second quarterback selected, with the New York Giants trading up to draft Jaxson Dart.

However, many don't think Deion's son will wait long to hear his name called tonight with the Browns overwhelming favorites across our best sports betting apps to draft him with the No. 33 pick. But I'm not so sure that's going to play out with multiple players still available that have first-round ability.

I don't think Sanders' upside is all that high - he's the 45th ranked player on my big board, and I think his ceiling is an Andy Dalton type of QB - and the Browns' trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars last night supports the idea that they'll be holding off on addressing the QB situation until next year.

The Browns traded the No. 2 pick, which became Travis Hunter, to the Jaguars and picked up a 2026 first-round pick in the process. They now have picks No. 33, No. 36, No. 67, No. 94, No. 126, No. 166, and No. 192 this year. Plus, they'll have two first-round picks next year, which could put them in position to draft Heisman Trophy odds favorite Arch Manning or any of the other talented QBs expected to be in the class next year.

It seems to me that general manager Andrew Berry is kicking the can down the road when it comes to the quarterback position and focusing on building this roster up so it's ready when a surefire first-round QB talent is available to select. So, if the Browns pass on him, where will Shedeuer Sanders be drafted?

The Las Vegas Raiders (No. 37) and New Orleans Saints (No. 40) are logical landing spots, but they could just as easily prefer Alabama's Jalen Milroe for his athletic tools or Louisville's Tyler Shough for his arm talent. Outside of the top 40, the New York Jets (No. 42), Dallas Cowboys (No. 44), Los Angeles Rams (No. 46), Miami Dolphins (No. 48), and Seattle Seahawks (No. 50) could all consider him.

It could be a long wait for Sanders, though, if none of the teams in the top 50 select him. After that, the next team in need of a QB that isn't among those teams is the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 83. I think the best bet right now might be the Dolphins (+4000), both because of the price and because of Sanders' fit in Mike McDaniel's offense. But at this point, nobody should be confident in where he'll land, or that he'll even go in the second round.
