Best odds: +1200 via BetMGM | Implied win probability: 7.69%

The Eagles allowed the second-fewest rushing touchdowns per game in the NFL, so I'm not overly interested in Kareem Hunt as the Chief with the shortest odds to score the first touchdown in the Super Bowl. However, our Super Bowl anytime touchdown scorer bets highlight Hunt as a solid option out of the backfield. 

Xavier Worthy’s 10 touchdowns led the Chiefs during the regular season.

He is an attractive option for this bet due to his ability to score on a home run play or from within the red zone if the Chiefs decide to utilize his blistering pace in close. Eagles first touchdown scorer prediction

Jalen Hurts 

Best odds: +650 via BetMGM | Implied win probability: 13.33%

Barkley has dominated the touchdown share for Philadelphia throughout the playoffs, and his odds of scoring the first touchdown at the Super Bowl (+440 at FanDuel) reflect that trend. He’s got the shortest odds of any player in the game.

I’d rather put my money on the player who led the Eagles in touchdowns during the regular season, as Hurts — who is receiving the third-shortest Super Bowl MVP odds — outscored Barkley on the ground, 14 touchdowns to 13.

Hurts’ knee ailment seems to be in the rearview mirror, so he’s primed to benefit from the Tush Push if the Eagles get the ball near the goal line.

With so many ways to get Hurts in range to tumble in for a score—a defensive pass interference in the end zone virtually guarantees a Hurts rushing touchdown—we like his first touchdown scorer odds at +650 from BetMGM. FanDuel offers the next-best value at +600.

Long-shot first touchdown scorer prediction

JuJu Smith-Schuster

Best odds: +3500 via BetMGM | Implied win probability: 2.78%

Marquise Brown is worth a look at +1800 from DraftKings and BetMGM, as he’s an explosive downfield threat; it wouldn’t be a shock to see Kansas City look his way for an early splash.

But if that’s not enough of a long shot to whet your whistle, there’s a case to be made for JuJu Smith-Schuster to have a memorable Super Bowl. He’s looked spry and healthy throughout these playoffs. He out-snapped DeAndre Hopkins in the AFC Championship, in which he broke loose for a couple of long receptions.

If JuJu has reignited an explosive element of his game, he’s a fun flier to open the Super Bowl with a bang at +3500 odds from BetMGM.
