The New York Jets have made it official and announced they'll be moving on from future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. So who will the 41-year-old be suiting up for next?

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders have the shortest Aaron Rodgers next team odds, and Jay Glazer of FOX Sports says all signs point to Rodgers playing his 21st season this fall.

After opening as the NFL Comeback Player of the Year odds favorite last year, the Jets struggled with Rodgers under center, and head coach Robert Saleh was fired after five games. The team finished 5-12 and hired Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn as head coach, who had previously indicated the team may look elsewhere for a QB.

It may surprise some to see all 32 NFL teams given odds to land Rodgers, but it's unclear what capacity the veteran quarterback will want to return in next season. It's assumed he'll desire to remain a starter, and Rodgers will likely get that opportunity given the quarterback situations toward the bottom of the league's standings. However, the best NFL betting sites won't take chances.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders are the favorites to land Rodgers. Both teams are reportedly looking to go in a different direction after underwhelming play at quarterback last season. The Steelers are the outright favorite with +200 odds, representing an implied probability of 33.33% and returning a profit of $20 on a $10 winning wager.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is famously a long-time admirer of Rodgers. The Super Bowl-winning quarterback could be seen as the missing piece to get Pittsburgh over the hump, which recent QBs have been unable to do.

Could the new Las Vegas part-owner Tom Brady pick up the phone and talk to his old adversary about the opening on Pete Carroll's team? The Raiders (+300) are one of seven clubs trading at 10/1 odds or shorter to land Rodgers.

Where will Aaron Rodgers play next season?

It's important to note that we have yet to hear Rodgers commit to playing football again during the 2025/26 season. While a decision is expected as early as this week, there has been no official confirmation, even though top sources like Glazer believe he's not done.

The Minnesota Vikings (+400) have been floated around as a potential destination, mostly as a joke on social media. Fans have been kidding that Rodgers could complete the Brett Favre career arc with that move. But is the shift as unlikely as it seems?

Our best sports betting sites don't believe so. In fact, they list the Vikings as one of the likeliest destinations for the quarterback. NFL Coach of the Year odds winner Kevin O'Connell could be looking for a new star under center if free agency takes Sam Darnold elsewhere, and J.J. McCarthy isn't deemed ready to step up. Could Minnesota turn to an old division rival for help?

However, we still believe the likeliest landing spot for Rodgers is Pittsburgh (+200).

While Tomlin's record of never dipping below .500 with the Steelers is still remarkably intact, it's hard to say the team has been successful lately. Pittsburgh has gone nine years without a postseason win, and it desperately needs something to change inside the team's facilities.

Whether Rodgers can be that change remains to be seen. However, signing one of the most successful quarterbacks in league history after he's cut from his previous club seems like a no-brainer. The Steelers are nothing if not aggressive when trying to improve their roster.

It's a safe pick, but it seems like the right one based on what we know now.

Prediction: Steelers (+200)

Aaron Rodgers contract details

Rodgers was set to receive a $2.5-million base salary and a $35-million signing bonus for 2025 under his contract with the Jets. That was after he signed a three-year, $112.5-million deal with the Jets in 2023. But he's now officially out in the Meadowlands.

There's no telling how much a quarterback who turns 42 next season will command on the open market. However, the salaries given to Rodgers and Derek Carr (four years and $150 million with the New Orleans Saints) sat in the middle of starting quarterbacks last season.

How old is Aaron Rodgers?

Rodgers will be 41 years old entering the 2025-26 season and will turn 42 in early December.
