Coming off an upset win over UConn, Tennessee (17-5) now must try to take down a surging LSU (24-1) team today at 4 p.m. ET (ESPN) on the road from Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, La.

With the Tigers being a 4.5-point favorite and among the Women's March Madness odds contenders, our Tennessee vs. LSU predictions envision Kim Mulkey's offense being too much for the Volunteers.

After winning the title two years ago, LSU fell short last year when Caitlin Clark and Iowa knocked the Tigers off in the Elite Eight. Clearly Mulkey wasn't going to let that happen again, and LSU has been on fire this season, with its lone loss coming to No. 2 South Carolina.

With Flau'jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow leading the way as two women's Wooden Award odds contenders, LSU boasts one of the most explosive offenses in the country. The Tigers are fourth in points per game (87.6), eighth in offensive rating (112.8), and 19th in field-goal percentage (46.8%).

This is a team built to win high-scoring games, and LSU will overpower a Tennessee squad that's 300th in points allowed (69.8) and 347th in field-goal percentage permitted (44.5%). The Vols are an offense-first squad, but the Tigers' defense should be able to do enough to pull away and cover.

While LSU is just 40th in defensive rating, Tennessee is significantly worse at 119th. Kim Caldwell's outfit just won't be able to get enough stops against Johnson, Morrow, and Co. to cover. If the Tigers cover, a $10 bet pays a $9.09 profit.

These two programs played on Jan. 9 in Knoxville, resulting in an 89-87 LSU road win that cleared 167.5 total points with ease. I'd expect much of the same with this Volunteers team leaning so heavily on its offense to keep it alive in SEC play, in which they're just 4-5. The group simply doesn't boast the defenders to slow programs like LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Luckily for Tennessee, the team is combatting its atrocious defense while being the second-highest-scoring school in the country (90.6 points per game) and ranking first in threes per outing (10.9). Trotting out two A-plus shooters in Jewel Spear and Samara Spencer around an All-SEC type of guard in Talaysia Cooper has been making the Volunteers' offense lethal.

That should help the them keep pace with the Tigers enough for this Over to hit. And LSU boasts one of the best scoring trios in the country in Johnson, Morrow, and Mikaylah Williams (combined 55.3 PPG) to help them cover and cash the Over.
