Ohio State, which is a long shot in the March Madness odds, owns a plus-44 point differential amid a three-game home winning streak. I expect it to win a fourth straight home triumph despite Michigan being a step up in competition from Iowa, Maryland, and Washington.
The game against Maryland is a good comparison for what Ohio State will face this afternoon, as the Terrapins and Wolverines boast similarly talented frontcourts.
Maryland built a 17-point first-half lead on the road against Ohio State, and forwards Derik Queen and Julian Reese finished with a combined 37 points and 24 free-throw attempts.
But the Buckeyes' second-half adjustments in that game and their ability to limit the production of Maryland’s role players should bode well for their chances of success in this contest.
