March Madness Odds 2025: Duke Favorite Heading into Final Four; Broome Playing Hurt for Auburn

In what has been deemed one of the chalkiest NCAA Tournaments of all-time, the four No. 1 seeds are the only teams that remain alive by the March Madness odds.
Duke heads into the Final Four on April 5 as the betting favorite to take home the title, thanks to Wooden Award odds favorite Cooper Flagg. Meanwhile, No. 1 overall seed Auburn has seen its odds slip after superstar Johni Broome had to play hurt (elbow) in the Tigers' Elite Eight win over Michigan State.
With Florida set to take on Auburn, the Gators have the second-shortest odds while Houston has the longest with the Cougars needing to upset Duke in the Final Four to reach the championship game on April 7.

- Duke: No team in the country has been as dominant as the Blue Devils with Flagg being the clear best player in the country and Duke's defense looking as frightening as its offense in its wins over Arizona and Alabama
- Florida: Walter Clayton Jr. might end up having his jersey retired before season's end after he carried the Gators to a comeback over Texas Tech in the Elite Eight, but it's clear Florida's defense has issues
- Houston: While the Cougars needed a bucket with 0.8 seconds left to beat Purdue in the Sweet 16, they looked like their ferocious selves again in an easy 19-point win against a Tennessee team that was clearly the top No. 2 seed in the tournament
- Auburn: It's hard to gauge where this Auburn team is at with Broome's health up in the air following an elbow injury against Michigan State, especially with the Tigers not looking quite as dominant as expected the last few weeks

π Duke March Madness odds (+105)

Flagg is positioned to potentially become just the fourth true freshman to win the Wooden Award, and he's expected to be the No. 1 pick by the NBA draft odds. That's why Duke had looked like the team to beat for months.
The Blue Devils have won 15 games in a row, including taking the ACC tournament title without Flagg after he was injured against Georgia Tech. In his return to the court in the NCAA Tournament, Flagg has been an unstoppable force, making Jon Scheyer's team look borderline unbeatable.
What makes Scheyer's squad so dangerous is that it's not just Flagg carrying the load, as Kon Knueppel and Tyrese Proctor are two of the top ACC players. With the other three No. 1 seeds having moments where they've struggled, it's hard to back any other program, even if a $10 winning bet pays just a $10.50 profit at Caesars.
Duke is leading the way while getting a whopping 40.5% of the handle at BetMGM and 14.1% of the tickets, with Florida a distance second (9.1% of the tickets and 11.7% of the handle).

π Florida March Madness odds (+290)

During the regular season, it was safe to say that Duke, Auburn, and Houston were the best teams in the country, but Florida stepped it up a notch down the stretch to win the SEC tournament and join those three as a No. 1 seed. With the offensive talent on this squad, the Gators have made a run and could take down Auburn in the Final Four.
However, their defense has been suspect at times, which put them in holes against UConn and Texas Tech. With that said, the Gators have been turning it on over the last two months, a stretch that includes wins over Auburn, Texas A&M, Alabama, and Tennessee, leading into their four straight NCAA Tournament wins. The foursome of Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin, Alex Condon, and Will Richard is one of the most lethal in the NCAA Tournament.
Earning a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament moved the Gators to second on the March Madness oddsboard, and their close wins over the defending champion Huskies and the Red Raiders didn't cause that to change. Clayton looks like the second-best player in the tournament right now after Flagg, but I think the Gators' odds are too short to bet.

π Houston March Madness odds (+400)

Houston has been locked in over the last two months after a bit of a slow start. Kelvin Sampson's squad showed it was ready to compete for a title, bouncing back from a loss to Texas Tech on Feb. 1 to win 10 straight regular-season games before taking the Big 12 tournament title and beating up on Tennessee in the Elite Eight.
The Cougars are top 10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency, and they boast an eight-deep lineup made up of fierce defenders and versatile scorers. With LJ Cryer and J'Wan Roberts leading the charge, the Cougars hold a shot to win the NCAA Tournament, which would turn a $10 bet into a $40 profit.
Even with a slightly concerning Houston second half against Gonzaga and a last-second win over Purdue, I think the Cougars are the second-best team in the country after Duke. The winner of the Blue Devils vs. Cougars Final Four game is who I think will take the title.

π― Auburn March Madness odds (+525)

A top-three offensive team according to KenPom, Auburn survived while Broome was on the mend, and he was back in full force down the stretch of the regular season. Arguably the best two-way player in the country, Broome had Auburn looking unbeatable before falling to Texas A&M and Alabama in the regular season and Tennessee in the SEC tournament.
While those were two tough losses to stomach, the Tigers were bound to lose a handful of games in an SEC conference many believe to be the toughest ever. However, the inconsistencies of Auburn have reared their head in March Madness after the Tigers didn't look their best against Creighton or Michigan and then had Broome hurt his elbow against Michigan State.
The health of Broome will dictate how far Auburn can go, and while he did return against the Spartans (and immediately hit a three), it was clear his elbow was bothering him and looked like even led to two missed free throws. Luckily it's his right elbow (he's a lefty).
It's going to take the talent around Broome - like Tahaad Pettiford and Chad Baker-Mazara - stepping up to carry Bruce Pearl's team to a title. If they can, a $10 winning bet on the Tigers pays a $52.50 profit at BetMGM. But I'm not sure they can beat Florida if Broome's injury is serious.

Changes in team dynamics, coaching, or even new player acquisitions can also affect odds. Public betting trends play a role too; if many people are betting on a particular team, sportsbooks might adjust the odds to manage their risk.
