After four updates in Day 1 of the tournament, the favorites had an even stronger day on Day 2. No. 12 seed Colorado State was the betting favorite against No. 5 Memphis and handled business. The only other higher seeds to lose on Friday were Mississippi State (vs. Baylor) and Marquette (vs. New Mexico).
