Final Four betting analysis
After the 2024 March Madness bracket was set, the Final Four odds experienced a major shift beyond the top few teams. But UConn and Purdue were always among the favorites to cut down the nets for their respective regions.
Once those two teams reached the final stage, the Huskies and Boilermakers were rightfully big favorites to advance past the semifinal round and meet in the national championship, which featured one of the most compelling on-court matchups in recent memory. Both squads relied on dominant interior play from Donovan Clingan and Zach Edey, the two favorites by the March Madness MVP odds.
Those two met worthy challengers in the Alabama Crimson Tide and NC State Wolfpack, which each pulled off at least one major upset to survive their regions and ultimately make the Final Four. It was the first such appearance in school history for the Crimson Tide, while the Wolfpack enjoyed a Cinderella run to their first Final Four since 1983.
