CP3 has been averaging 11 points and 9.4 assists over his last nine games, compiling five double-doubles in that span. He’s racked up double-digit assists six times and narrowly missed a sixth double-double by a single point.
Paul has found a rhythm in San Antonio, facilitating to young scorers like Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and Devin Vassell, among others. The rookie came off the bench for the first seven games of his career, finding modest success across 19.9 minutes. He’s been excellent since becoming a starter, making the most of his 29.3 minutes per game.
Castle has averaged 14 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in those six starts, good for 20.5 PRAs. He’s hit the Over on this line in four of his last five games, including a 22/2/5 line on Friday against the Lakers.
Devin Vassell made his season debut last week, and he's paired with Castle to share the court for four games this season. Both are averaging 16.3 points per game and are tied as the Spurs’ second-leading scorers.
Castle is also averaging a steal and 1.7 triples while shooting 46.9% from the floor and 37% from beyond the arc. The Spurs will likely bring Vassell along slowly as he ramps back up, but Castle is doing plenty of good things in his own right to warrant a starting role on this team.
