Familiarity breeds contempt, and there’s no love lost in tonight’s matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers, with the former knocking out the latter in consecutive playoffs and winning four of the last six regular-season meetings.

It’s a new season, and while the 8-6 Nuggets have struggled at times, the Lakers have looked comfortable on their way to a 10-5 record.

Our Nuggets vs. Lakers player props look at Los Angeles’ dynamic duo, who should be locked in for this prime-time matchup with Nikola Jokic and Co.

We’re also looking to Joker to continue racking up counting stats at an eye-popping rate when the Nuggets and Lakers and Nuggets tip off at 10:00 p.m. ET (NBA TV) crypto.com Arena.

AD has thrived as a rebounder over the last three seasons, but he’s been especially strong against the Nuggets. Davis is averaging 11.2 boards per game this season, and he pulled down at least 12.5 per game in each of the last two.

Not counting a game in which he logged only 17 minutes, Davis has grabbed at least 13 rebounds in nine of his last 14 against Denver, including the playoffs. He averaged 13.3 boards against the Nuggets last season and 14.2 during the 2022-23 season.

Since the start of the 2022-23 campaign, Davis has recorded at least 13 rebounds in 90 of 146 games, good for 61.6% of his appearances. Denver has surrendered the ninth-most rebounds this season, and Davis is in a great spot. We’re getting this prop at a tremendous value.

Nikola Jokic triple-double ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jokic has been a triple-double machine throughout his career, but he’s been particularly potent this season. Jokic is averaging 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 11.5 dimes, leading the Association in boards and assists.

He’s been doing it all for the shorthanded Nuggets, and Jokic has recorded a triple-double in seven of 11 games this season. He missed on two more triple-doubles by just a single counting stat.

Over the last two seasons, Jokic has averaged a triple-double against the Lakers and recorded one in seven of 16 games. He’s been on such a roll that we have to take this one at plus-money, as we’re getting another huge value.

LeBron James Over 42.5 points + rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -106 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 51.46%

James has been phenomenal in his 22nd season, and though he’s averaging the fewest points of his career, he’s been no slouch as a rebounder or facilitator. On the season, he’s averaging 41.6 PRAs, but over the last 10, he’s averaged 45 PRAs.

James has hit the Over on this line in nine of 15 games this season, and seven of those have come over his last 10 appearances. James hit the Over on this line in six of his last 15 against the Nuggets, and he recorded 41 or 42 PRAs in five more.

James and Co. are on a roll, and the Nuggets’ defense is far from the strong unit it’s been in seasons past. We’re confident in his ability to hit the Over in this one.
