The Dallas Mavericks (9-8) will be without superstar Luka Doncic (wrist) when they face the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night in the second leg of a back-to-back set on the road.

Dallas fell, 123-118, in overtime at the Miami Heat on Sunday. We’ll account for the injury report when predicting our best Mavs vs. Hawks player prop bets.

The Atlanta Hawks (7-10) have been off since they dropped a shootout, 136-122, to the Chicago Bulls on Friday in NBA Cup action. The Hawks have lost four of their last five games but are 2-0 this season when playing on two or more days of rest.

Marshall has been an underrated addition for the Mavericks this year, and he should continue to see an increase in minutes and usage with Doncic out.

The swing forward dropped 20 points in 30 minutes while going 3-for-5 from 3-point range at Miami on Sunday, and now he’ll face a Hawks defense that yields the most 3-pointers (16.7) at the highest percentage (39.7%) in the NBA this season.

P.J. Washington will need a lighter workload after playing 40 minutes yesterday, and veteran guard Klay Thompson could see fewer than the 31 minutes he played Sunday. At 26 years old, Marshall should be good to go on zero days rest.

He’s averaging 21.6 points per 100 possessions with a career-best 120 offensive rating, scoring at least 13 points in five of his last six appearances.

Jalen Johnson Over 13.5 rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Johnson has routinely filled the stat sheet this season and is a leading contender by the Most Improved Player odds.

While Trae Young has stepped up his distributing game when facing Dallas in recent meetings, the Mavs could slow him down, with their perimeter defense looking much better in the absence of Doncic. So, we can expect the Hawks to initiate plenty of offense through Johnson, who is averaging 6.7 assists and 13.2 rebounds per 100 possessions this season.

He posted his best offensive rating (142) in 10 games when playing on two days of rest last season and could have a fitness advantage against a Mavs team that is coming off two close games, including an overtime loss on Sunday.

Dereck Lively II Over 16.5 points + rebounds ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We can take another young player on the Dallas roster in this short-rest situation.

Lively is splitting time rather evenly with Daniel Gafford, and both centers should see a full workload against a Hawks team that also rotates two centers (Clint Capela and Onyeka Okongwu).

The Hawks give up 53.8 rebounds per game while playing at the third-fastest pace in the NBA this season. Lively didn’t see a dip in his stats last year on zero days rest, averaging 9.3 points and 7.3 rebounds over 24.3 minutes per game. His production is up to 14.5 points and 11.4 rebounds per 36 minutes this season, and he played 31 minutes on Sunday.
