Despite taking pole position after winning qualifying, George Russell is trading just behind Carlos Sainz Jr., the Las Vegas Grand Prix odds favorite at FanDuel hours before the race.
Russell became the first driver who doesn't race for Ferrari or McLaren to take pole position in the last 10 races, since the British Grand Prix in July.

Las Vegas Grand Prix odds 2024: Favorites
Charles Leclerc (+260)
Leclerc finished fourth in qualifying but is well-positioned to improve on his runner-up position from last year's Las Vegas Grand Prix. His odds didn't move at FanDuel after qualifying, as he remains at +250 and will enter the race as the third-favorite at FanDuel. He is the favorite at DraftKings (+185) and the co-favorite at BetMGM (+225).
Leclerc was strong during his first time under the bright lights of Vegas last year. The Ferrari driver finished second, one of just two who were within about two seconds of the winner Verstappen. There was a canyon of space after Sergio Perez behind Leclerc, with Esteban Ocon finishing fourth at 18.7 seconds behind the leader.
The 26-year-old endured some struggles in 2023, but that's far behind him now. Leclerc has been at the center of Ferrari's uprising this campaign, which includes victories in Monaco, Austin, and igniting the Tifosi with a triumph at Monza.
He's pushed Ferrari to second in the constructors' standings, and a win in Vegas could go a long way toward closing the gap on McLaren.

Lando Norris (+950)
Norris' sixth-place finish in qualifying substantially decreased his Las Vegas Grand Prix odds, which lengthened from +300 to +900 at FanDuel. He lasted only three laps during the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix before spinning on turn 12 and crashing out. However, Norris is well-positioned to challenge atop the grid this time around.
Norris has quickly emerged in 2024 as fierce competition for Verstappen, as has McLaren with its rocket-fueled cars that have spent much of the season blowing past anything Red Bull has to offer.
He was pushing Verstappen for the drivers' title until a sixth-place stumble in Brazil all but ended his chances. Norris is consistently at the front of the grid and a contender for podium finishes, ending up among the top three 12 times and notching three victories, with the most recent coming in Singapore.
His rise has come with plenty of on-track friction with Verstappen too, as the pair of seem to get tangled up nearly every race. That resulted in two separate 10-second penalties for Verstappen in Mexico, which came after a similar controversy in Austin.
Norris has dominated Verstappen and the entire field plenty of times this season, most notably earning a 22-second victory during the Dutch Grand Prix.

Verstappen saw his odds lengthen from +420 to +650 after finishing qualifying in fifth spot.
The struggles of Red Bull after Verstappen won seven of the first 10 races this season were immense and at times shocking. But writing Verstappen off completely felt like malpractice even at the depth of those woes given his clear championship pedigree.
Remember, it wasn't long ago that Verstappen was consistently being offered at deep minus odds ahead of every grand prix. And now his sputtering, at least by the sky-high standards of Red Bull, has led to appealing odds for the defending Las Vegas Grand Prix winner.
The dominant version of Verstappen reappeared during the Brazil race amid incredibly difficult conditions, leading to a stomping of the field. Verstappen pulled away swiftly after reaching the front, resulting in a 19.477-second win. In the process, he became just the fifth driver over 1,121 world championship races to start 17th or lower and win.
He still needs to shore up his fourth title as a driver, and Red Bull remains within reach of the constructors' championship while sitting 49 points behind. A motivated Verstappen is always dangerous.
