MLB RBI Leader Odds 2024: Alvarez the Favorite Over Soto, Judge
Matt Olson led MLB in RBIs in 2023, but he isn't the favorite to repeat by the latest 2024 MLB RBI leader odds and predictions based on the best MLB odds from our best MLB betting sites.
It may not be the sexiest MLB metric these days with the rise of advanced stats, but RBIs remain one of the easiest ways to identify the biggest bats in baseball.
Last year, Atlanta Braves slugger Matt Olson paced the majors with 139 RBIs - tied for the most by any player since Ryan Howard and Prince Fielder each tallied 141 RBIs in 2009. It was also 21 more than second-place finisher Pete Alonso (118), who tied Aaron Judge for the MLB lead in 2022.
None of those players enter 2024 as the consensus favorite to pace the majors in RBIs across our best sports betting sites, which makes this often-volatile market even more enticing to bet as we head into spring training.
Here's our look at the best odds for the 2024 MLB RBI leader, with our best MLB picks among the favorites, contenders, and long shots.

MLB 2024 RBI leader favorite
Yordan Alvarez (+900 via Caesars)
It's a little curious to see Alvarez dealing as the consensus favorite (or co-favorite) across our best sportsbooks, considering he's cleared 100 RBIs just once in his five-year career and isn't projected to lead MLB across any of the early projection models.
A key reason for that is health: the Houston Astros slugger played just 114 games last season and has never reached 145 games in a season. That's a virtual prerequisite to contend in a volume-based market like this one, which values ability just as much as availability.
There's no doubt that Alvarez has the power and team environment to contend in the RBI race, but I'd hesitate to lay such short odds on the oft-injured slugger.
MLB 2024 RBI leader odds: Contender
Shohei Ohtani (+1300 via BetMGM)
Two of the five primary projection models at Fangraphs - including the well-respected ZiPs model - have Ohtani leading the majors in RBIs in 2024. So why is he dealing as the seventh choice at BetMGM?
There's some injury risk with Ohtani after he missed the final month of the 2023 season with a UCL injury, but he still managed to lead the AL in home runs (44) in just 135 games with a 114 RBI pace over a full 162-game season.
Now the two-time MVP winner enters the best situation of his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, who featured four different players with 100-plus runs in 2023. Ohtani feels like a lock to hit that mark, and he should be in the mix for the MLB lead in his first season in Dodger blue.
MLB 2024 RBI leader odds: Long shot
Ronald Acuna Jr. (+8000 via bet365)
Remember that ZiPs model that had Ohtani projected as the RBI leader? It also had Acuna tied for second with 116 RBIs, which makes these +8000 odds via bet365 feel like grand larceny.
Acuna finished with a career-high 106 RBIs in 2023 behind the most games played (159) of his six-year MLB career. Much of that came from his 41 home runs, which tied his career best from 2019, though teammate Matt Olson ultimately outpaced him in home runs (54) and RBIs (139).
Still, I wouldn't rule out Acuna leading this loaded Braves lineup in both metrics this season after the MVP performance we saw last season. If Acuna can register a slight uptick in power in 2024, this could be the best value of the entire season.

MLB 2024 RBI leader odds analysis
There are three primary considerations when betting this market: power, durability, and team environment.
The first one is obvious, as the players with the most RBIs each year tend to be those with the most home runs and extra-base hits. Because this is a volume-based market, it's equally important for those players to log high totals in games played. You can record one RBI per game (which would be unheard of), but if you only play 100 games, you aren't cashing in this market.
The last one is perhaps the most underappreciated aspect of this market. Some of the top sluggers in MLB have been held under the 100-RBI mark because their teammates around them can't get on base. That's what makes this market such a volatile (and entertaining) one to mine for values further down the board.
