Big 12 Championship Odds 2025: Arizona State, Kansas State Co-Favorites; Colorado Long Shot

In what was the most competitive race to reach the conference championship among Power 4 conferences last season, the Big 12 looks to be wide open once again after Arizona State came out of nowhere to take the crown last year.
The Sun Devils are co-favorites with Kansas State by the Big 12 Championship odds at our college football betting sites to win it once again. Baylor, BYU, and Kansas are all in the next tier, while Deion Sanders' Colorado is a long shot after losing Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders to the NFL.
This is the only Power 4 conference with zero teams getting shorter than 5/1 odds to take home the title.
Big 12 Championship odds 2025
Live Big 12 Championship odds from our best sports betting apps.
- Arizona State: The Sun Devils were +10000 to win the Big 12 heading into last season, and they became the third program in four years to win the title with preseason odds of +3000 or longer
- Kansas State: The Wildcats were co-favorites to win the Big 12 last season, but QB Avery Johnson didn't quite live up to the Heisman Trophy odds buzz he was receiving heading into the year
- Baylor: Despite getting longer college football championship odds than half the conference, the Bears surprisingly are getting the third-shortest odds to win the Big 12
- BYU: Similar to ASU, the Cougars came out of nowhere and almost made the Big 12 Championship Game last year after being the longest shot to win the conference (+12000)
- Colorado: With Hunter and Sanders among the 2025 NFL Draft odds favorites, it could be a rebuilding year for Deion in Boulder
Big 12 Championship favorites
Arizona State (+550)
Clearly Kenny Dillingham is building something special in Tempe. It took him just two seasons to pull the Sun Devils out of purgatory due to NCAA infractions committed under former head coach Herm Edwards. Not only did they win games, but Arizona made the College Football Playoff before going toe-to-toe with Texas.
While ASU does lose all-everything running back Cam Skattebo, it returns QB Sam Leavitt and wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, arguably the two best at their position in the conference. Defensively, the team also brings back Xavion Alford and Clayton Smith.
It's hard to bet against the Sun Devils, with a $10 winning bet on them paying a $55 profit.

Kansas State (+550)

Three years ago Kansas State won the conference with Will Howard behind center. Howard was in Columbus last season winning the national championship, with Johnson taking over as Chris Klieman's QB1. Though he showed plenty of potential, there were some growing pains for the young passer.
With DJ Giddens heading to the NFL, Johnson will need to take a major step for K-State to compete for the conference title. Luckily, running back Dylan Edwards is a big play waiting to happen.
A more significant concern may be the losses on defense like Brendan Mott, Jacob Parrish, Austin Moore, and Marques Single. I'd take ASU over KSU at this price.

Baylor (+700)
It's been a freaking ride in Waco with Dave Aranda as head coach. The team looked awful in his first season, then won the conference in his second before disappointing in the next two campaigns to the point he was on the hot seat. Then the team started 2-4 before last season before winning six straight games.
Now Baylor is getting the third-shortest odds to win the conference?
I'm not touching the Bears, even with so much returning talent from last year's team. They've just been far too inconsistent in the post-Matt Rhule era. If they were 10/1 or longer, I'd be all over them with Bryson Washington and Sawyer Robertson back.
But Kansas, Texas Tech, and Iowa State are the better plays while all getting longer odds.

My Big 12 Championship team to watch
Texas Tech (+1000)

Recent history says that a team with even longer odds than the Red Raiders will win the Big 12. But I'm not sure I can buy in on Rich Rodriguez's return to West Virginia or Scott Frost being back at UCF, or the Mike Gundy experience in Stillwater. Instead, I turn to Year 4 of Joey Maguire in Lubbock.
The former Texas high school coach has used his connections to recruit the Lone Star State hard, and he's been bolstering the roster with the No. 3 transfer portal class. So with QB Behren Morton back and the additions of Howard Sampson (North Carolina), Romello Height (Georgia Tech), Lee Hunter (UCF), and Quinten Joyner (USC), this should be the most successful season Texas Tech has enjoyed since the Mike Leach days.

How to bet on the Big 12 Championship
When betting on Big 12 Championship odds, first, choose a reputable sportsbook that offers college football futures. Check out the odds for different teams; for example, if Utah has +300 odds and Colorado has +600, a $100 bet on Utah would win you $300 if they take the championship.
Decide how much you want to wager and place your bet. If you bet $100 on Utah at +300 and they win, you’ll get $400 back ($300 profit + $100 stake). Keep an eye on team performances throughout the season to see how your bet is shaping up.
Remember, when betting in future markets, the odds will move. It’s mostly about performance and perception. If a team starts playing better or worse than expected, their odds will change. Injuries to key players can significantly impact a team's chances and thus their odds. Transfers and new player acquisitions can also affect a team's championship odds.
Public betting trends play a role too - if a lot of people are betting on one team, sportsbooks might adjust the odds to balance their risk.
Expert analysis and predictions can also influence how people bet, which in turn affects the odds. Understanding these factors helps you make more informed bets and maybe even catch some favorable odds shifts.
How to read Big 12 Championship odds
Reading SEC Championship odds is straightforward. Odds are usually presented in a format like +300 or -150. Positive odds (i.e., +300) show how much profit you’d make on a $100 bet.
For example, a $100 bet at +300 odds would win you $300, plus your original $100 stake, totaling $400. Negative odds (i.e., -150) indicate how much you need to bet to win $100. So, a $150 bet at -150 odds would win you $100, plus your $150 stake, totaling $250.
These odds also reflect the implied probability of a team winning the championship. Lower odds (i.e., +200) suggest a higher probability of winning, while higher odds (i.e., +1000) indicate a lower probability. Sportsbooks adjust these odds based on factors like team performance, injuries, transfers, and betting patterns.
For example, if Kansas State has +300 odds and Kansas has +600 odds, Kansas State is considered more likely to win. If you bet $100 on Kansas State and they win, you’d get $400 back ($300 profit + $100 stake). Understanding these odds helps you make informed betting decisions and assess potential returns.
