Oregon Sports Bettors Set New Super Bowl Betting Records

Online sports betting in Oregon runs through just one of our best sports betting sites, but just one operator doesn't mean things aren't booming.
The Oregon Lottery has revealed a record-breaking level of sports betting engagement during Super Bowl 2025, with over 456,000 bets placed through DraftKings, the state’s only sportsbook.
The combined handle for these bets reached $8.26 million, the largest single-event volume in Oregon sports betting history. The average amount wagered was approximately $18.11.
The Super Bowl also generated over $2.8 million in revenue for Oregon, the largest single sports event revenue for the Beaver state.
Prop bets were a top contributor to that revenue. Patrons could make over 1,100 wagers available, ranging from Super Bowl MVP odds to betting on which team would be the first to score a touchdown.
Among the most notable results were 9,375 bets on Super Bowl coin toss odds, with 5,120 successfully calling for the Chiefs. Super Bowl Gatorade color odds, debating the color of the Gatorade dumped on the victorious coach, was another heavy wager, with 981 out of 8,979 correctly identifying yellow.
The number of unique, active players engaging with the Oregon sports betting platform increased nearly 9% compared to the previous year. In 2024, bettors in the state placed 424,812 bets, amounting to $7.7 million in total wagers. Residents continued to take advantage of Oregon sportsbook promos and DraftKings promo codes.
Other states smash records

Pennsylvania sports betting also set a new state handle record with $102 million in bets placed. Nevada experienced a drop in total handle. The state's gamblers bet approximately $152 million, down 20% from last year. Though this was a decrease in betting activity, sportsbooks in the state reported a record $22.1 million in revenue.
New York sports betting also set a state record with $155 million in bets and had significant revenue gains, collecting $47.4 million, a 31% hold.
