Caesars Summary
The name Caesars has become synonymous with iGaming across North America – and with good reason. Caesars has the widest reach of any gaming company on the continent and as online sports betting continues to grow, so, too, will the Caesars portfolio.
Yet, while Caesars’ impact on the NA gaming space is beyond dispute, the quality of its sports betting property has generated plenty of discourse – particularly among Ontarians who now have a bevy of sports betting options at their disposal.
Beginner players will appreciate the security of a well-known name and the simplicity of the interface. More experienced players, on the other hand, might have a hard time reconciling Caesars’ disappointing secondary betting market relative to the competition.
Here’s a look at Caesars Ontario, and why this is a near-perfect sports betting site for both first-time and recreational Ontario sports bettors – and a decent option for aspiring pros, as well.

Caesars Locations
Caesars Sportsbook is in a unique position in Ontario compared to its competitors. While they’re all entering the legal sports betting market here for the first time, Caesars Entertainment has been operating the government-owned Caesars Windsor Hotel & Casino since 1994. In 2006, the first licensed sportsbook in Canada was opened in the casino at Legends Sports Bar.
The legal sports betting scene has changed dramatically in Ontario since the Windsor first opened its doors, and the casino itself no longer offers a sportsbook. While grey market books used to dominate the online sports betting market, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario now welcomes legal online bookmakers like Caesars Sportsbook into the province.
Sports Leagues to Bet On
As with most legal betting sites in the same ratings range, Caesars offers Ontario bettors easy access to the most popular sports in the top-middle of the screen – a list highlighted by North America’s “Big Six” leagues:
NFL Betting
Caesars dove headlong into the NFL betting sphere in more ways than one. In July 2021, Caesars Entertainment acquired the naming rights to the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, which is now called the Caesars Superdome. And just four months later, Caesars announced a sponsorship deal with the NFL’s first quarterbacking family, the Mannings. Today, Caesars offer competitive odds as one of the top-rated NFL betting sites and Super Bowl betting sites.
College Football
Caesars does a solid job with both NFL and college football odds, providing both the basics (moneyline, spread, totals) and popular secondary markets (team and player props). I would be a much bigger Caesars supporter if the betting site featured a few more markets, particularly across its college football product (though the offering is stronger for bowl season).
NBA Betting
Caesars and the rest of the Ontario sportsbook elite have significantly raised the bar in recent years when it comes to NBA betting markets. And while I might have some qualms about a lack of betting markets or available sports, there are no issues here: Caesars gives bettors a wealth of options during the NBA season, including an incredible number of nightly player props.
College Basketball
College basketball betting handles vary wildly between states depending on how hoops-mad the users are – and Caesars does a decent job of serving bettors of all interest levels. I’m a fan of the depth of futures options here (200+ teams included in the National Championship odds? Crazy!) And while not every state allows player prop betting, Caesars offers it for those that do.
NHL Betting
Caesars’ foray into the NHL betting space was a significant one. The company made history in September 2021 when the NHL’s Washington Capitals became the first major American sports team to feature a gambling logo on their in-game jerseys. Capital One Arena was also the first major sports team venue to open an 18,000 square foot sportsbook inside.
MLB Betting
You’re missing out if you don’t give Caesars Sportsbook a try during those sports-lean summer months. Caesars’ MLB betting options are positively immense, especially if you’re looking to get granular with regard to team or player props. You can also bet on outcomes for every inning from the first to the ninth. Caesars is a superior option on the baseball betting front.
Other Sports Leagues
The Caesars betting site menu varies according to which sports are in season, but you will generally find football, basketball, baseball, and hockey at the top, followed by soccer, golf, tennis, and boxing. It also offers odds on auto racing, cricket, darts, handball, rugby league, rugby union, snooker, and table tennis.
That is a smaller selection than several rival online betting sites, with volleyball, lacrosse, and Aussie Rules among the notable absences, but all the prominent sports leagues are covered in detail. It covers a pretty robust selection of leagues and tournaments worldwide, but it has fewer betting options than rivals like BetMGM, PointsBet, and FanDuel.
Online Betting Experience
The sports betting experience is reasonably impressive at Caesars Sportsbook. The UK version of the William Hill site is hectic and cluttered, but the team went for a far more minimalist and user-friendly approach for the Ontario market.
The new owners have maintained the design, simply adding a Caesars skin onto the old William Hill app and website, so it remains easy to browse and user-friendly. It is not as stylish as DraftKings, and it lacks the stats and the broad selection of wagering options you will find at BetMGM, but it is a clean, efficient betting site that can be navigated quickly and easily.
Website Experience
Caesars’ desktop homepage is a model of simplicity. And while the lack of color or imagination might rankle some users, most just want to be able to easily make their bets – and emperor, Caesars is listening.
Redirects to live betting and odds boosts are provided in the top-middle of the home screen for easy access, and the odds listings for the highlighted sport are featured prominently in the middle of the screen. The odds are easy to read, and the various prop menus run along the top of the highlighted sport screen so you’re never scrambling to find the market you want.
Mobile Betting and Betting App
Caesars offers one of the best sports betting apps in Ontario.
It was completely revamped after being acquired by William Hill in mid-2021, which brought significant upgrades. After receiving thousands of reviews, it has already achieved an average rating of 4.5 on Google Play and 4.6 on the Apple App Store. And I thoroughly enjoyed using the app when testing it out.
You should be able to navigate to games quickly and place your bets very efficiently. It does not offer as many features as some competitors’ sports betting apps, but it is very clean and user-friendly, just like the online sports betting site.
Live Betting
I found basketball in Poland, table tennis and hockey in Russia, soccer in Finland, tennis in Mexico, and cricket in India available when writing up this review, to give you an idea of the live betting depth available.
Caesars uses official NFL data feeds to underpin its live football betting, and the range of betting options is substantial on football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and soccer.
Casino, Poker, & Other Gaming Options
Caesars Ontario's online casino offers virtual table games, live dealer tables, and slots.
The range of options is very narrow compared to rivals like Unibet, but the games are all high-quality titles produced by world-class studios like NetEnt. It would be nice to see greater variety in the future, as Caesars is a casino giant, but the casino section is easy to browse, and it comes with some great bonuses.
Caesars History
Caesars Palace was founded in 1966 and is one of the most iconic hotels in Las Vegas. It also offers the largest physical sportsbook in Las Vegas.
Caesars Entertainment first launched an online betting product in Nevada in 2017 using technology from Miomni. It expanded into New Jersey and Pennsylvania after PASPA was overturned in 2018, using a revamped platform, but it struggled to compete with market leaders like FanDuel, DraftKings, and William Hill. Eldorado Resorts then purchased Caesars for $17.3 billion in 2020, creating the most prominent casino and entertainment company in the United States, and the group adopted the Caesars name.
Eldorado had already teamed up with William Hill for a market access deal. By that point, William Hill was the No. 1 sports betting operator in Nevada, and it had launched in more states than any other online sports betting site. Caesars Entertainment bought William Hill for ÂŁ2.9 billion ($4 billion) in 2021, and it rebranded William Hill Sportsbook as Caesars Sportsbook.
It also added new features to the app and improved the bonuses in a bid to turn Caesars Sportsbook into the most popular online betting site in the country. Nevada, Washington D.C., and Illinois have different products, bonuses, and promos still branded with William Hill.
Caesars is proving to be one of the most aggressively expanding brands in sports betting, pushing industry standards. Aside from the prominent “Caesars” brand, Caesars Entertainment also manages popular Las Vegas brands such as Harrah’s, Tropicana, Flamingo, Bally’s, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Rio, Circus Circus (Reno), Lady Luck, and more.
Customer Ratings & Reputation
Caesars Sportsbook has an excellent reputation among sports bettors.
William Hill has been operating since 1934, and it built up a robust and loyal customer base in North America.
Caesars Entertainment is a large, liquid, transparent, publicly-traded company that complies with all regulations in each state in which it offers legal sports betting. It has an excellent security record.
Caesars responds in a timely fashion to the majority of complaints, most of which center around suspensions/bans or withdrawal issues. And I can’t stress the importance of this last point enough: While several other notable sportsbooks will throttle betting limits down to pennies, Caesars is much more lenient here – earning big (and well-deserved) kudos for this practice from the sports betting community.
Customer Service
Caesars provides customers with 24/7 customer service. You can speak to representatives using the live chat option – and that had better be your preferred option, since it isn’t easy to find another method of reaching the sportsbook on the “Contact Us” section of the site.
The page does, however, provide a number of helpful resources for those whose issues can be resolved in short order. In addition to a detailed FAQ section on the site, Caesars provides help for players specifically looking into account issues, payments or rules for various sports.
As for the live chat feature, customer service representatives usually respond quickly and are generally good at dealing with player issues. For a company this large to have strong customer service is a significant feather in its cap, for sure.

Why Choose Caesars?
Two words: “The Hangover.”
Okay, so hit movies might not be enough to compel you to sign up for a sportsbook, but Caesars’ sterling industry reputation and player-friendly sports betting products should do the trick. Primarily, Caesars has kept things simple with its nation-wide sports betting app, learning some valuable lessons from William Hill on what to keep and what to ditch.
Our quibbles with this betting site are minor, but do prevent Caesars from achieving the highest possible score. For starters, it could offer a better variety of live markets (though it has shown improvement in this area). And while it might not matter to bettors who stick with the most notable leagues, having more sports available would provide Caesars with a big boost.
New bettors will love how easy it is to sign up for a Caesars account and instantly be able to place a wager. And power players have to at least respect Caesars’ place in the sports betting hierarchy when it comes to limits on wagers.
Caesars offers something beneficial to all who wager – and in an industry that tends to favor one type of bettor over another, that’s one of the biggest reasons why this sportsbook sits at the top of the heap.
