College Basketball

March Madness is a tentpole event for sports bettors, so it's no surprise that 888sport treats it with the respect that it deserves. All college basketball tournament games have available markets, and the selection of regular season and conference games is also strong.

NHL Betting

If you like betting on the NHL, then 888sport is an excellent option. ML, O/U, and puckline markets are available for all regular season and playoff games. You also get a nice selection of secondary wagering options here, including 888sports' own same game parlays, a bet builder, and a heaping helping of player props covering a wide variety of game outcomes.

MLB Betting

I was left dissatisfied by the number of different options available for MLB betting at 888sport. Player props were not available to place single bets on, and were only available in bet builders. Same game parlays only had pre-made options available. 888sport has all the main markets, but bettors looking for more than that may want to go to another sportsbook. 

Other Sports Leagues 

If it’s more obscure sports wagering you crave, 888sport can accommodate that. The sports betting site's secondary sports market includes tennis, soccer, golf, MMA, motorsports like Formula 1 and NASCAR, snooker, darts, esports, cricket, boxing, horse racing, and virtual sports.

888sport lacks the sports volume of sites like bet365, but there’s still a multitude of sports to bet on here.

Website Experience

888sport is one of the best-looking sportsbooks around. Personally, I found it a breeze to navigate, thanks to the intuitive design and the clear, informative labelling throughout the site.   

It takes seconds to locate the sport you’re interested in, and from there you can choose from any number of available markets. Account features are all easy to access on the desktop site, so there’s no frustrating search for the right page to deposit or withdraw funds.  

If you’re looking for a no-nonsense sportsbook that provides the content you need in a clear, smart and accessible way, this is the one for you.

Mobile Betting and Betting App 

888sport caters well to mobile players. There’s a purpose-built app, which can be downloaded at the touch of a button via the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Interestingly, 888sport's ratings on both apps are nearly identical. The iOS version currently has a rating of 4.4 on its respective app store, while on Android it carries a rating of 4.5. Both have glowing reviews from recent players. Unfortunately, you need to download separate apps for its casino and poker offerings (more on this suboptimal setup later).

When testing the 888sport app, I found it to be impressively quick and very easy to get the hang of. All account features were found easily, and a full range of sports is available to bet on using either version of the app.

888sport should be commended for having an aesthetically pleasing and functional mobile app, but logging in and time-out issues are a major concern. And this might frustrate first-time ON players who have plenty of options and little patience for technical issues like this.

Live Betting 

Players can bet in-play on many of the sports offered at 888sport. There are some great odds on in-play betting here too, so if you’re looking for generous odds on matches that are already underway, this is a really good sportsbook to check out.  

Like many other top sportsbooks, the site provides a number of in-play options, including the option to cash out at pivotal moments in games. We checked the odds on a number of different cash-out offers and found them to be fair and in many cases quite generous in favour of the player. 

Casino, Poker & Other Gaming Options

888sport has a sister site, known as 888casino. It’s unfortunately not housed within the same website as 888sport, and while it’s easy to get from one to the other using the provided links in the header bar on the left-hand side, I would prefer to have my gaming options housed together in the same place.  

At the casino, you’ll find all the most popular games from cutting-edge online slots by top developers such as Pragmatic, Play’N Go, Netent, Playtech, and Red Tiger. In total, 888casino features well over 100 different slots to choose from. Traditional table games like blackjack, baccarat and roulette are also available.

If you’re interested in bluffs and min-raises, don’t miss 888poker. This is another offering from the team at 888sport, dedicated exclusively to all things poker – yet, like the casino offering, it's hosted on a separate website. There are many different tournaments available for players to join, from Sit and Go, MTT, PKO, and Mystery Bounty and there’s a huge range of online games with affordable buy-ins for all experience levels too. They also have handy pages dedicated to strategy and rules to help you out if you need it.

That all said, the poker and casino offerings are standard in the industry, and the fact that you have to transfer to other sites to access them is an inconvenience. I much prefer sites like FanDuel, DraftKings and Caesars in this regard, as they all house both products in one area.

As I’ve mentioned, there are a number of other 888 sites now, such as 888poker and 888casino. 888poker was founded in 2002. 888casino was the first of their websites founded, back in 1997.

The popularity of 888sport has risen significantly over the years, thanks to the unparalleled experience that the site offers its players. And some clever sports sponsorship deals have added to the appeal along the way such as previously being the kit sponsor of La Liga side Sevilla and English sides Nottingham Forest and Brentford.  

888sport is now a member of ESSA, the European betting integrity body. It’s also licensed by the Nevada Gaming Commission for online gaming, which is no mean feat for a non-US company.

Customer Ratings & Reputation 

888sport has a good reputation among players, with many praising both its desktop site and the mobile apps offered for Apple and Android devices.  

Players have consistently praised the choice of sports on offer, and the quick, easy deposits and withdrawals at 888sport. Complaints include issues logging in and time outs on the mobile app, and the withdrawal process is very complicated compared to other sportsbooks. Another big knock against them is the fact that you will need to make separate deposits for its casino, poker, and sportsbook – the funds are not transferable between the silos.

This is yet another example of poor integration on the part of 888sport, and will almost certainly turn off bettors who can get all of their gaming needs covered with singular apps elsewhere.

We submitted a number of test queries to the team, in order to check their helpfulness and their response times. In every case, the team exceeded our expectations, whether we sent a question via email, submitted a query on live chat or called the team directly.

Once a customer is properly verified it is easy to withdrawal money from your 888sport account. Expect to wait 4-8 days for processing. The minimum withdrawal is $20, and all using Canadian dollars. 

Why Choose 888sport?

888sport is one of the better sportsbooks available right now. With a huge range of sports on offer, and great odds on all kinds of different live matches (both real and virtual) it’s a site that’s well worth exploring.  

I love the slick, user-friendly design of the site, and I am a huge fan of the way it works on mobile too. The apps are a huge plus, as there are many sportsbooks that don’t have mobile apps for you to use. However, the lack of markets available for a popular sport like baseball and the need to navigate to different sites for its casino and poker products undercut what could be a fantastic product. Plus, the withdrawal terms and conditions make it seem like they're trying to keep your money on the website.

With all that taken into consideration, 888sport is a solid sportsbook for Ontario bettors looking to open another account. But if you're a player who's trying sports betting for the first time, it's probably best to look elsewhere first.
